PROGRESS ON HCV ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ACROSS CANADA

PROGRESS ON HCV ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ACROSS CANADA

Hepatitis C treatment access has continued to move forward across the country, particularly in regards to the removal of restrictive eligibility requirements – one of the calls to action of our Eliminate hepatitis C campaign.

The Saskatchewan Formulary became the latest to make treatment available for people living with hepatitis C regardless of disease severity or prognosis factors” , following similar news from British Columbia where anyone living with chronic hepatitis C will now be able to access treatment, while the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program will no longer have fibrosis score requirements when treating people living with hepatitis C, and Quebec has also expanded access to chronic hepatitis C therapies.
