FUNDERS

CTAC has a mixed funding model. We receive funding from government sources, trusts and foundations, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Ethics and transparency are of vital importance in all our work. Therefore, all funds received are openly declared, and our financial statements and annual reports clearly state who our funders are, and the amount of financial support we receive from each funder. Our annual reports and financial statements are easily accessible on our website at https://ctac.ca/resources.

Any funding received from pharmaceutical companies is restricted funding, which means it is project-specific and not related to any particular pharmaceutical drug, or advocating the use of a particular drug. Pharmaceutical funding is used solely for policy research and dissemination of that research. No pharmaceutical funds received are used to partake in patient advocacy activities, which includes the patient input process.

Example of our work can be found at https://ctac.ca/resources, where funders for each project are clearly stated.

Our policy regarding potential conflicts of interest in funding decisions is very clear: “We will not accept any funding where any conflict of interest, or appearance of a conflict of interest, exists”. Any employee, or board member, must declare any conflict of interest, should it arise, and these conflicts would be immediately addressed to ensure that none would exist.
